Amber was out and about on the country roads the other day and came across a large "trash" pile on a locals property. We have learned over the years that another persons trash is most likely another persons treasure. So Amber met the young man and he was more then happy to let Amber and our children onto his property to do some looking around. The gentleman is a local farmer, maple syrup maker and it turns out a nice collector of New Holland Tractor items!
As Amber was searching around, the gentleman let our children play around on his hay bales and showed them some of the fun he used to have on the farm when he was a kid. As they were playing Amber came across a nice galvanized tub in the trash pile that we sell out of the store all the time. Also throughout here picking she found some Antique Cow bottles and some old pulleys! As night was approaching she called it good and paid the gentleman for the "trash" he was going to throw out and headed home.
A small amount of items but a great experience for her and the kids! So when your out riding around and come across a "trash" pile or items by the side of the road don't be scared to ask if they have more for sale?! You just never know when you will come across your own little honey hole or you might find that item that you have been looking for for years! Always be respectful and courteous though because unlike what you see on TV or in this blog some people have no interest in letting you buy anything or take anything from their trash pile. Hope you all enjoyed our little story and we will have many more to come!
